Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • Free Cancellation: You can cancel your booking up to 30 days before check-in at no cost, except for a 500 NOK administrative fee. This fee also applies if you cancel part of your booking, such as reducing the number of reserved nights.
  • Partial Refunds:
    • Cancelling between 29 and 15 days prior to check-in incurs a non-refundable fee of 25% of the total booking amount.
    • Cancelling between 14 and 10 days prior to check-in results in a non-refundable fee of 50% of the total booking amount.
    • Less than 10 Days: If you cancel within 10 days of check-in, the full booking amount is non-refundable.
  • No Refunds: Refunds are not issued for no-shows or for situations such as travel delays, vehicle breakdowns, illness, weather-related issues, road closures, accidents, or scheduling conflicts. Similarly, no refunds are provided for early departures for any of the reasons mentioned above.

  • Refund Process: To request a refund, please fill out the form with your contact details. Once your request is received, Hylja will process it within 7–10 business days. Note that currency exchange differences may occur if your card’s currency differs from NOK. Any variations depend on your card provider or bank.
  • Travel Insurance: For peace of mind, we recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected situations, such as airline cancellations, delays, or disruptions due to weather or airline issues.
  • Booking Changes:
    • Changes to booking dates are not allowed less than 30 days before check-in without incurring fees. The same fees as cancellations (25–100%) will apply.
    • Date changes are limited to within one year of the original booking date. If you wish to rebook for a later date, we cannot guarantee the same pricing, and a new booking will be required. Non-refundable fees cannot be transferred as credit for future reservations.

Hylja’s Rights

Hylja reserves the right to cancel bookings in the event of circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, or other force majeure events. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.
If technical issues or limitations affect the service or amenities in the cottages, Hylja will issue partial refunds based on the severity of the issue.

Policy Updates

Hylja may revise or update its booking and cancellation policies without prior notice.
